Tech Support Specialist


Before coming to Stanford GSE, Chris worked in Apple's tech support division for 8 1/2 years. His computer experience began in 1980 with Heath/Zenith CP/M machines, and then the Apple //e. He began working the Apple Macintosh 128K in 1984.

Chris earned his MA (almost ABD) in Slavic Linguistics from the University of Pennsylvania. Prior to this, he attended the Defense Language Institute, in Washington DC, completing their 47-week intensive course in Russian. His undergrad degree was from Penn’s Wharton School in Corporate Finance. In recent years, he has studied Sanskrit and Spanish.

During his years at Stanford, Chris has developed a keen interest in applying & leveraging computer & mobile technologies in Education, especially as these relate to international & multi-cultural computing. In Spring 2006, he was nominated for the Amy J. Blue award, "which honors staff members who are exceptionally dedicated, supportive of colleagues and passionate about their work". Chris also enjoys doing pro-bono event photography for Stanford GSE, as well as CCARE and Buddhist Studies.
