Vipul has 20 years of experience in engineering and marketing in the United States. After graduation, he plans to make his way back to Pune in India to start work on an on-line learning platform for children. At Stanford, he developed a clear mission to immerse himself in his market, an not try to be an armchair entrepreneur.
Quote:"At the Graduate School of Education, I learned through close contact with entrepreneur's already working in this field, here and in places like India, that you must test anything you design with actual users. In the beginning of my class with Dr. Kim, I was curious to see how a class format of students interacting to founders of start up would work. Now I believe that the open discussion format was how I learned my most important lessons, by examining my idea for my start up within the context of listening to founders of current start ups discuss their struggles."
Quote:“I am from, in terms of the global context, a smaller city in India, but Dr. Kim had contacts in every corner of the city - far more than I had. He was incredibly useful for helping me find people and resources to help my start up, he knew more about the people working in this space than I did. And his encouragement to come up with more and more ideas was central to the development of my work.”
